Hey y’all! Here’s what we’ve been reading and listening to this summer, in case you’re looking for some recommendations:
Christopher Paul Stelling‘s forgotten but not gone & few and far between – We met CPS at Eddie’s Attic a while back, and he’s just the coolest. We love “Better Days” and “Fire on the Moon” on this album.
Redd and The Paper Flowers‘ Appalachian Bell Jar – We also met Redd at Eddie’s Attic, and we’ve enjoyed following her as she worked to make and release this first album. Our favorites are “Ijams” and “Blackbear” – check them out!
Adamson Avenue’s “Balcony” – these guys practice in our barn every now and again, so it’s a good thing they have such great songs to jam to over and over. We love this one!
Anthony’s June reading list: Derek Walcott’s Collected Poems 1948-1984, a collection of interviews called Tom Waits on Tom Waits, and Dave Grohl’s memoir Storyteller
BB’s June reading list: Ecopsychology (Roszack, Kanner, Gomes, 1995), Margaret Atwood’s Oryx and Crake, Whitman’s Leaves of Grass, and John Berger’s “Why Look at Animals?”
Enjoy !🤓 Please share your summer reading and listening with us!
